Is there anyone in this community practicing or studying the Hellenistic religion?

Has anyone heard anything about the movie 300? All I saw from the preview was something about Sparta. Not sure what it is in reference too though.

If you ever get the chance you should go to the Virginia Museum of Fine Art in Richmond. My Dad and I went there last week and they had a really nice collection of art from Rome and Greece among other things.

Just joined not too long ago. New to GJ as well. Formally a long time member of LJ. I was the creator of http://roma_antiqua.livejournal.com/ . I've stopped actively studying ancient Rome a long time ago. I had gotten into it mostly for ancestry reasons because I am of Roman descent, but now I've moved on from caring about that. Also, I think I just burnt myself out haha. Anyway, my interest in ancient Rome has always been with the Republic, the Italic tribes, the time around Sulla, the lives of the plebians and the Roman controlled lands outside of Italy. Hmm...not sure what else to say. :)

I thought this resource might be useful to some people here. It contains scanned copies of Classical works.

My Mom just bought this book called History of Ancient Greece by Nathanial Harris. It's pretty cool, it goes through the whole history of Greece and has a lot of neat pictures. It's definetely worth taking a look at.
